Big Indian Valley and Lisbon Valley share a geological history rooted in the Paradox Basin, characterized by a faulted anticline structure. The Lisbon Valley anticline, a key feature, is salt-cored and was formed through a combination of salt flowage, folding, faulting, and renewed salt movement over time. Big Indian Valley, also within the Paradox Basin, features intensely faulted structural depressions and major faults.
